The food's been phenomenal. Which explains all the French tourists. Where the French are when you travel, I recall now, the food's gotta be good. A reason to get Le Guide Routard (the French equivalent to Let's Go or LP), even if you don't read French. Really.
Lunch today:
Lemon grass fish soup
Omelette stuffed with ground pork and mung noodles, maybe carmelized onions
Papaya salad
Lunch yesterday:
Salt encrusted grilled tilapia, from the pond, no less, mouths stuffed with lemon grass. With scales.
Plate of blanched veggies (like greens, a seedless cucumber-like thing, and carrots, all arftully carved).
Pork and chicken stirfry with greens and a light oyster sauce
Dessert: water mellon and pineapple.
Breakfast today:
Rice porridge with ground pork and green onions.
Served with sugar, chili oil paste, and lime slice
It's a hot day today, but a bowl of hotter porridge was great.
Last few days:
A light soup with silk tofu, shitake mushrooms, and cucumber stuffed with a mung bean glass noodle and meat stuffing.
Glass noodle and meat (and egg?) made into a loaf and sliced.
And decent pasta!
The chef? M's bro-in-law, altho' the tilapia was grilled by his other bro-in-law, fixit/builder dude sans pareil. These both, he needs to make sure they stick around.
Oh yah, I got photos. Hope to get them up soon.
