Green Globe elsewhere in Laos

The Boat Landing, up in the north of Laos, has the Green Globe certification already. Among its requirements is to have an Environmental Policy statement:

I have to say this is good green marketing- I would probably choose them over others.

They have the seal on the lower left, which takes you to the Green Globe site. I suppose to make it super kosher, on Green Globe's site should be a list of certified companies. Kinda like TrustE or other online certification programs.

I'm in contact with someone who helped The Boat Landing on this, and asked the following questions:

1. What level of certification did you get?
2. How long did it take you?
3. Did you use the EC3 folks?
4. Do you know what the difference is between the EarthCheck
Equivalence Level and GreenGlobe Lite?
5. How big is your organization?
6. Why did you decide to do it- other than the environmental benefits
and associated cost savings, what other benefits do you think getting
the certificate accrues?
7. How long have you had the certification?
8. Other than the cost of the certification, what were your one time
costs to comply? What are your ongoing costs to be certified?
9. Did you use a consultant for any of this work?
10 What were the biggest challenges in getting the certification?
Knowing what you know now, what would you do differently or counsel
others to do?
11 It appears the program is procedure-based rather than
performance-based: you need to demonstrate that you're doing certain
things- measuring env'l impact, demonstrating knowledge about basic
concepts of sustainability and cultural/heritage significance- rather
than demonstrate specific environmental performance (must use < X
liters of water, e.g.). Is that true?
